Gonzalo de Palacios
Gonzalo has worked in the humanitarian and cooperation aid sectors since 1999 in Asian, African, American and European countries as a humanitarian worker, performing a range of technical and coordination positions for several organisations.
He has also worked at the headquarters of non-governmental organisations and in Technical Assistance of the Security Management Unit of the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID).
Over the last few years, he has become a specialist in security risk management and has coordinated and supported the Security Working Group of the Spanish NGO Coordination Forum (the Coordinadora).
Recently, he has been supporting several Spanish and European entities in areas relating to security risk management such as crisis management, security incident reporting or the preparation of online and offline training materials.
He has lectured on security risk management at the Alcalá de Henares University and has published several articles and collaborated in the editing of several security-related guides.
Alejandro is an information systems technical engineer with more than 15 years’ experience, both in the private and humanitarian and development aid sectors.
He has been the Manager of the Information and Communications Technologies Department at Acción contra el Hambre (ACF-Spain), leading the technological strategy of the organisation as well as identifying corporate technological needs, optimising technological resources, and overall directing more than 250 projects and providing support to more than 1500 users.
He has recently worked as an independent consultant in the implementation of technological projects related to humanitarian and development aid activities.
